Travis Dow: The Songs
2nd Sunday In November
(Travis Dow (from "Back To Nowhere" - 2006))
This one started with that fancy arpeggio progression on the guitar. Pretty much impossible not to hear lyrics in the air when hearing that music. In this case I was reminded of slowly falling snow, which brought me to November, which led me to those times when you think of what might have been.
Lyrics:
The second Sunday in November was the day that we met
I’ve been tryin’ to remember some things I should forget
I’ve been fallin for a girl I knew, a long, long time ago
Will she get me through December this year, or will I have to let her go
Though she’s disappeared from my life, I still fight the urge to call
Just when I thought I was free, just when I thought I was free
It was freefall
I told her someday you’ll forget me and you’ll get by on your own
But don’t forget the late nights and the silence on the phone
There’ll come a time when you won’t let me in your heart and I’ll be gone
But you know there must be a reason when you start to cry
Remember it’s the season when you start to wonder why
The second Sunday in November I would freely live again
Even lost in this December of what could have never been
Forever grateful for the truth I learned a long, long time ago
It can last a Sunday or a second and still be the truest love you’ll ever know
