Travis Dow: The Songs
Light That Lives
(Travis Dow (from "Back To Nowhere" - 2006))
A very hopeful song written on a very hopeless night. I was feeling so low that I did the only thing I could think of doing, short of running into traffic - and that is to write about it. I found it strange that the first thing to come out was a hopeful message that made sense to me as a song, though as a non-musical thought, it wouldn't have at the time. In that way, by writing the song I was able to articulate, if only to myself, a way to feel a sense of comfort and of hope.
Lyrics:
There’s knees and prayers and souls to keep
I only wish I could fall asleep and dream of days yet to come
There’s telephones and satellites
But the only voice I need tonight is here inside
It never fails to forgive, never dies
It’s the light that lives in me
Chorus:
Stop this entertainment, it’s more than I deserve
I know I’ll be feelin’ something soon
Feeling something soon
Repeat All
